HIRING OF CONSULTANT The Directorate General Mines & Minerals Development Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa intends to out source feasibility studies of PC Il Scheme “Regional Geo-Chemical Exploration for Precious Metals ¡n Southern Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa funded By Annual Development Programme. 2. Work to be accomplished under the proposed studies include: (I) Orientation work comprising literature search, compilation and integration of available geological maps and known mineral occurrences in conjunction with remote sensing studies to generate preliminary data layers on GIS. (Il) Preparation of preliminary report with the description of the above data layers to conceptualize the geological environment (Geological Modeling) for precious metal deposits in the area. (III) Exploration field work for collection of stream sediments sampling and chip/channel/bulk sampling of selected out crops as part of geochemical exploration coverage. (IV) Laboratory Studies comprising Chemical Analysis and Petrographic/Mineralogical Studies. (V) Systematic compilation of Exploration data and its presentation to generate GIS data layers for further integration and interpretation leading to identification of anomalous targets of metallic minerals. (VI) Preparation of interim and final reports (hard and soft copy along with data layers in GIS format). 3. The interested firms: I) Should be technically and financially sound and should have remained involved in similar nature of exploration work. Il) Should be specifically knowledgeable about geological modeling and integration of exploration data layers using GIS and Remote Sensing techniques. III) Should provide evidence in support of the above claim. 4. The interested parties may obtain soft copy of Request For Proposals (RFP) on payment of Rs. 1,000/- (non refundable) from the office of the undersigned. 5. The interested parties are required to offer technical and financial bids which will be opened on 26-03-2012 in the office of Director General Mines & Minerals, 5- Khyber Road, Peshawar. 6. The interested firms will be required to offer their presentation with regard to: I. Experience and undertaking the proposed studies. II. Strategy of their exploration and the time required for undertaking th assignment. III. The cost estimates of the studies. 7. Selection of the consultants will be as per in vogue Rules of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 8. The successful bidder shall have to obtain NCC from Ministry of Defence, Islamabad regarding use of Global Positioning Systems etc. as part of field operation of the project. 9. The Competent Authority reserves the right to reject or accept any bid without assigning any reason thereof. 10. Potential investors may also show their interest for Reconnaissance Licenses on the area with commitments to fulfill the requirements of the exploration as per TORs of the studies. However, the area in that case may be granted subject to availability of the area in line with Mining Concession Rules-2005.
