VICE CHANCELLORS REQUIRED FOR
AGRICIJLTIJRAL Universities IN PUNJAB (PAKISTAN)
The Government of Punjab, Pakistan is seeking the services of
outstanding professionals of international repute for appointment as Vice
Chancellors of the following Universities:
a. University of Aquiculture, FaisaLabad having its main campus at Faisalabad
and sub-campuses at Dera Ghazi Khan, Toba Tek Singh and Depalpur
Okara (www.uaf.edu.Dk).
b. Pi Mehr ,òJi Shah Arid Agnculture UrNversity, Rawalpindi having its main
can’pus at Rawalpindi and Sub-campus at Khushab (www.uaar.edu.pk).
2. These are leadership positions with main responsibilìty of promoting
academic excellence, transparent governance and motivating the university faculty
and administration to work together for achieving increesingly higher standards of
teaching. learning and research.
3. The pos4tion also requires rich experience in academic arid financial
management with proven tradc record of sicills in initiating and managing change.
strategic ptanning, overseeing implementation and the capability of mobihsing
resources for the university and its research programme and networking with
national and international Institutions.
4. Other skills required for Vice Chancellors of these Agncultural
Universities include the abity to integrate the results of agricuural research into
agricuural education and to spread the benefits of both to the farmers through a
modem system of dissemination and extension.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
. Ph.D. or equivalent deee in any relevant academic discipline from a
recognised University.
- Less than 60 years of age.
. Both male and female candidates are eligle.
. Quality research publications in journals of mternabonal repute.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Tenure They shall hoki office during the pleasure of the Chancellor for a
term not exceeding fou years with effect from the date of joining
for a penod of foix years with a probation penod of twelve
months.
Pay Pay and benefits as admissible to Management Position Scale-Il
(MP-II). In case of approval by the Punjab Government, the
followig salary package shI be admissible in place of MP-II:
i. Basic salary equivalent to Professor at Tenure Track
System.
ii Vice Chancellor Allowance @ 20% of basic pay.
ii. Transport and medical facilities as per entitlement of
BPS-22.
iv, Any other perk and vilege granted by the Chancellor as
deemed necessary under peculiar circumstances.
5. Eligible candidates are requested to apply on plan paper, indicating
the University for which the application is being made, along with the following
documents:-
- Curriculum vitae.
- Copies of educational certificates degrees diplomas/ testimonials.
- Three recent passport size photographs.
- Ust of Research Publications (if not included in C.V).
- A vision statement for the University (not more than one pe).
