The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is inviting applications from highly competent individuals for the position of Assistant Country Director (Chief, Environment and Climate Change Unit) for UNDP Pakistan Country Office, Islamabad on Fixed Term Appointment at NOC level. Assistant Country Director - Chief, Environment and Climate Change Unit Under the overall guidance of the Country Director and the direct supervision of the Deputy Country Director (Programme), the Assistant Country Director, Chief Environment and Climate Change Unit (ACE).. ECU) will serve as a manager and advisor to national counterparts and UNDP senior management on the aspects of national and provincial environment and climate change related policies and programmes as well as Country Office (CO) programme portfolio dealing with environmental management, sustainable energy and climate change adaptation and mitigation. The ACD-ECU will lead the Environment and Climate Change Unit in strategic planning and identifies new programme areas while ensuring consistency with United Nations Development Assistance Framework! Country Programme Document (UNDAF/CPD) priorities and creative responses to emerging challenges and opportunities in development recovery and crisis contexts. Under the guidance of CDIDCDs, ACD-ECU will support and ensure UNDP’s lead role in the coordination and management of One UN initiatives in the areas of Environment, Sustainable Energy and Climate Change. Eligibility: MastePs Degree or equivalent in Environment Sciences, Engineering, Natural Resources Management or Climate Studies along with at least lO years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects and establishing inter-relationships among international organizations and national governments.
