Applications are invited for the following posts in Department of
Teachers’ Education as per terms and conditions given
below:
PROFESSOR (B-21)
Q) PhD from an HEC recognized institution in the relevant field.
(ii) 15 Years teaching/research experience in HEC recognized
University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in a
National or International organization.
(iii) The Applicants must have 15 Research Publications in
internationally abstracted journals recognized by the Higher Education
Commission I B.A.S.R. University of Karachi.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (B-20)
(I) PhD in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University I
Institution.
(ii) 10 Years teaching I research experience in an HEC recognized
University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in
the relevant field in a National or International organization.
(iii) The Applicants must have 10 Research Publications in
internationally abstracted journals recognized by the Higher Education
Commission I B.A.S,R. University of Karachi.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (B-19)
PhD in the subject from an HEC recognized University /Institution. No
experience required
OR
Master’s degree (Foreign) or M.PhiI or equivalent degree awarded after
18 Years of education as determined by the HEC in the subject from an
HEC recognized University / Institution with 4 years teaching /research
or professional experience in a recognized university or post-graduate
Institution in a National or International Organization.
OR
Master’s degree (First Class) in the subject with No 3rd Division in the
Academic Career from an HEC recognized University I Institution with
6 years teaching I research or professional experience in a recognized
university or post-graduate Institution in a National or International
Organization.
LECTURER (B-18)
First Class Masters Degree or equivalent degree awarded after 16
years of education in the subject from an HEC recognized University I
Institution with No 3rd Division in the academic career.

Furthermore, the candidate with 2nd division in the Master’s Degree
but holding higher degree i.e. M.Phil/PhD or equivalent degree with 18
years of education may be considered.
Note:
1) AIl those applying for the post of Assistant Professor or Lecturer
excluding in-service regular teachers of University & such candidates
holding PhD degree in the subject are required to appear in NTS Test.
Only short listed candidates will be called for interview and
presentation before the Selection Board.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
(i) Applications are required to be submitted on prescribed forms,
obtainable from the office of the Deputy Registrar (Establishment,
Teaching), University of Karachi on payment of Rs.500/- through Pay
Order in favour of University of Karachi.
(ii) Six copies of application forms together with a Pay Order of
Rs.12001- in favour of University of Karachi, for the post of Professor &
Associate Professor and Four copies of application forms for the post
of Assistant Professor & Lecturer, photocopy of marks certificates,
degrees/diplomas/certificates, experience certificates and reprints of
publications, if any, must reach the Registrar, University of Karachi,
University Road, Karachi-75270, Pakistan on or before 8th October
2012. The last date for receipt of applications in case of Pakistani
Nationals serving I residing abroad is 22nd October 2012.
(iii) Candidates already ¡n Government, Semi-Government and
Autonomous Organizations in Pakistan must apply through proper
channel.
(iv) Candidates requesting application forms by post must send a pay
order of Rs.600/- within Pakistan and Rs.1500l- or equivalent from
outside Pakistan drawn in favour of University of Karachi, Karachi,
Pakistan along with their written request.
(y) Those applying for the post of Assistant Professor I Lecturer must
enclose three attested passport size photog
