The potential candidate is expected to:
e Support the Ministry in the preparation and revšsion of the IT Policy and other strategic documents pertaining to the National IT Program.
. Responsible for monitoring of the IT projects funded by the Ministry IT In this activity the incumbent will be supported by a team of project
managers. The incumbent must have strong management skills in leading the monitoring team to make sure that public funds are spent
judiciously, and timely reports and produced on utilization and achievement of physical targets.
. Coordinate with the executing agencies of the Ministry in developing and evaluation proposals and plans including those pertaining to
cooperation with other countries arid donor agencies.
Responsible for the pre-processing of all projects submitted to the Ministry for funding. This activity involves a through study of the goals
and objectives of the proposals, the cost elements and the design of the proposed solution. The incumbent should provide the technical
leadership to the team of IT professionals assigned to assist ¡n this exercise and through examine the summaries and working papers
produced forthe inputof the forum approving the project Adherence to strict deadlines and a strong follow through are essential.
. Evaluate proposals and carry out analysis and studies on various other topics pertaining to the IT industry. The incumbent must have the
technical breadth to deal with a variety of topics ranging from hardware and networking to business processes, software applications,
databases and standard. The incumbent should be able to not only manage such activities but also to make a direct contribution.
. The Incumbent will have a major role in the preparation to the annual development budget of the IT Ministry. In parcuiar, getting the
requirement of the various agencies and vetting those against the project deliverable and uijlization, preparation of the budget sheets,
holding reviews and making modifications and finally putting up the budget for approval.
. In addion to these major tasks the incumbent, being a senior technical officer of the Ministry will be handling a vaety of inter-ministerial
cases that require technical input and would also participate ¡n task forces, working groups, review meetings, recruitment and other such
activities as and when required.
Pay Package & FaciIities4,
MP-l, Rs. 195,000-15,00OE240,000 with house rent atlowance (Rs. 75,OOO1O5,OOO). Utilities allowance (Rs. 9750-12000). 1300CC
Chauffeur driven car. Medical and other allied facitifies as admissible under the Government Rules. No other benef of any kind would be
admissible orwìll be considered over and above the salary package under reference.
In case of selection. the candidates working in Government Departments autonomous/Semiautonomous bodies will have to either resign from
their post or to seek retirement before joining their new assignment. Candidates possessing the required qualification and experience are
