Pakistan Railways has an opportunity available for a suitably qualified & experienced legal professional to serve
as Director/Legal Affairs at Pakistan Railways Headquarters Office, Lahore.

L.L.B. Preference will, however, be given to candidates possessing higher Qualification.
I- License holders, practicing in High Courts and Supreme Court of Pakistan.
ii- More than 10 years directly related experience/practice in High Court and Supreme
Court of Pakistan.

iii- Experience in a similar position in any public/Private Sectorfirm will be a plus point.
iv- The ability to analyze & present information or draft materialfrom legal point of view,
in a clear and logical manner as well as very good inter-personal & communication
skills are a necessity. The position requires fluency in English too.
y- Candidates having variety of experience in the fields of Civil Law, Criminal Law
Labour Law, Service Law and Taxation shall have preference.
a- Administration and control of legal branch of Pakistan Railways.
b- To direct and supervise day to day functioning oft he legal branch.
c- Providing legal interpretation and advice pertaining to question of law, local &
international contract agreements, claims etc. and rendering legal advice where
needed.
Responsibilities
d- To liaise with the Divisional Superintendents and other Principal Officers in the
context of matters pertaining to the court cases.
e- To liaise with the litigation cells in the Divisions.
f- To represent & contest cases in the court of law on behalf of Pakistan Railways.
g- To report to General Manager/Operations and Secretary Railways on legal matters.
h- To render legal advice on taxation, such as customs duty, sales tax, central excise
duty and to contest such cases with administrative and judicial forums.
@ The selected candidates shall be entitled to retain his professional license issued by the Bar Council.
® The post carries Management Scale-Il (Rs.25880-1 700-49680) with the facility of 1000 CC chauffeur-driven
