ob Announcement for Ibe position of Cbief of Party I National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) is seeking a Chief of Party (COP) for a USAID -funded grant program. The program aims at empowering grassroots organizations and community groups working to strengthen the fabric of civil society in Pakistan. Job descriptions 01 COP The COP will be responsible for the activities and results under the contract. The COP has therefore been vested with considerable authority for all decision making. The specific tasks with regards to the grants’ management include the following: . Managing a large technical and administrative staff working out of headquarters in Islamabad and provincial offices; . Oversee the entire grants management function; • Monitor the work plan and the program progress; and . Taking necessary and timely actions that may be required from time to time to achieve the program objectives. The COP is also responsible for proper publicity of the grants disbursed through the program and for establishing linkages and relationships. For this purpose, hefshe will dothe following: • Coordinate effectively with numerous entities; . Arrange meetings, conferences and public gatherings for the publicity of the program; . Coordinate with USAID offices and American Embassy; • Coordinate with grantees; . Coordinate with relevant agencies of the GOP/Provincial governments, where applicable; and . Coordinate with other USAID funded Programs. Essential requirements 1. Helshe will be required to possess outstanding interpersonal, cross-cultural and strong communication skills (spoken, writing and editing skills). Exceptional public speaking skills and experience are required to represent very high profile activities. 2. The incumbent is expected to be a strong, seasoned and skilled COP who has the requisite leadership skills and knowledge to make decisions. 3. Should be available for the entire duration of the program which is up to August 2015. 4. The job requires extensive involvement of COP in Grants management, coordination and establishing relationships. The applicant should therefore be fit and willing to travel. Qualifications . Master level degree from a recognized university. . At least ten years’ experience of managing large scale projects. . Experience of working with both local NGOs and preferably with international donor organizations. . A strong knowledge of regions throughout Pakistan. . Experience of managing community based projects. . Excellent interpersonal, cross cultural, communication and negotiation skills. . Preference will be given to the candidates having knowledge of, and faniilianty with USAID programs in Pakistan. 2 Note: Applicant’s academic qualifications and eperience will be positively verified.
